HOW IT WORKS
Dedicated Fixture Gasketing
In-Board Gasketing : To be placed in the channels of a dedicated spoilboard.
If you are looking to make dedicated spoilboards for long-term repetitive use, All*Star’s in-board gasketing is the product that makes the most sense. In-board gasketing, while requiring a bit more programming and set-up time to produce, offers customers a more consistent, longer lasting fixture.
To create a dedicated spoilboard, customers route channels for gasketing to lay into directly to the inside of the tool path that will be used to create the part.
HOW TO SET UP A DEDICATED BOARD
- One additional channel is created just to the inside of the tool path.
- The sealant is placed in this channel at roughly a 3(in)-to-1(above) ratio.
- Vacuum channels are created from a source to distribute the vacuum flow.
- The gasketing recesses into the channel when the vacuum is engaged bringing material flush against the spoilboard and lock in the seal.
ADVANTAGES OF DEDICATED FIXTURES
- Longer life cycle for both the fixtures and the tooling
- Quicker line speed = more cycles/hour
- Higher spindle speeds = Better “finished edge”
- No interference with the Z-Axis
- Lower cost of labor
